There are four ways to qualify for a major tournament, with three of them being automatic exemptions into the major tournament.

Ways to qualify for this major tournament:
  1. Have won this tournament previously(career-long exemption)
  2. Win any tournament since the last edition of the major was played
  3. Be in the Top 20 of the World Golf Rankings as of Week 6 release.
  4. Earn a spot through the qualification tournament

Qualification tournament:
  • The Top 14 players not meeting one of the first three exemptions listed above will play in a qualifier before the major tournament.
  • These 14 players will be seeded 1-14 and seperated into 2 groups.
    • Seeds 1, 4, 5, 8, 9, 12, and 13 will play an 18-hole qualifier on Ashdown Park (9 holes, 1-9) and Hanwell Fields (9 holes, 1-9)
    • Seeds 2, 3, 6, 7, 10, 11, and 14 will play an 18-hole qualifier on Ashdown Park (9 holes, 10-18) and Hanwell Fields (9 holes, 10-18)
    • The top 3 finishers in each qualifier will advance to play in the major tournament.

Anybody who does not qualify for the major tournament will be eligible to play in an alternate tournament run during the same period. Advantages of playing in a major include earning more season points and the WL ranking points earning potential is higher, however, the competition is stiffer in a major tournament.

Good luck to everyone!
